The course ‘Manufacturing Planning and Control’ considers manufacturing planning and control (MPC) systems technologies and components, i.e. demand management, production planning and scheduling, capacity planning and recourse management, production activity control. Material requirements planning (MRP) and manufacturing resource planning (MRPII) systems, finite capacity planning (FCP) and advanced production scheduling (APS) systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP) and Just-in-time/Kanban manufacturing planning and control systems are reviewed and analyzed in the course. Main aspects of MPC systems design and implementation are considered. Students get experiences in using production planning and scheduling techniques to solve practical problems as well as get practical experiences working with advanced production planning and scheduling software and business integrated information system for small and medium size enterprise.
