Numerical methods provide a way to solve complex engineering problems quickly and efficiently. The long-term development of society today is impossible without investment in technology. Optimization of manufacturing processes and development of new products is often achieved through experimental modeling. This can be a time-consuming process that involves a lot of expenses. Mathematical modeling allows you to save resources and time. Numerical methods are an essential part of any mathematical model. The study course is one of the courses in a group of courses covering data analysis, machine learning and data science. In this study course, the main focus is on the development of numerical methods and the introduction of the corresponding algorithms using the Matlab software package. The study course is adapted to the methodology of blended learning and includes asynchronous and synchronous study activities, as well as the necessary support materials for asynchronous study activities. In order to cope with the complexity of the problems faced by engineers, the study course examines the classic methods used to solve practical tasks in engineering: methods of solving systems of linear equations - direct, iteration, variation type, methods of solving nonlinear equations and systems, interpolation, approximation, the method of least squares, their applications, solving the Cauchy problem for ordinary differential equations, systems of equations and differential equations of higher orders. The study course examines the applications of numerical methods: response surface methodology, studies of the stability of the mechanical system in the case where the system is described by a system of first-order differential equations.
