The study course develops technical competence in the field of ship repair and maintenance. Provides knowledge of ship engineering systems and the use of relevant tools and technologies. It also focuses on improving problem-solving skills to analyse and solve problems in ship repair and marine operations and make decisions in real time. Communication and collaboration skills are emphasized in order to work effectively with colleagues and communicate technically clearly. Important aspects of the study course are safety, compliance and adherence to international maritime standards. Professional development includes gaining industry-related experience, networking and understanding roles and responsibilities in the maritime industry. The study course of study also promotes adaptability, resourcefulness, ethical approach and responsibility. By adapting these competencies and skills, marine engineering students can acquire a comprehensive skill set for a successful career in ship repair and marine operations.
The study course has been developed taking into account the requirements of the STCW Convention Code A-III/1 standard and the professional standard, as well as compliance with the relevant IMO model course recommendations and other binding regulations.
The student has the opportunity to choose the type of practice - either to work in a ship repair company, or to go on a maritime practice on ships.
Within the study course, students perform tasks in accordance with the tasks contained in the marine practice book for ship engineers (trainees) and/or the workshop practice book for ship engineers and ship electrical engineers (trainees). The tasks included in these books cover areas of knowledge and skills related to the operation, maintenance and repair of the ship's engineering systems.
Part-time studies are organized according to an individually developed study plan.
