The study course includes occupational safety and healthy working environment organisation on board ships. As part of the study course, students are prepared for maritime practice, introduced to safe organization of work on board ship, work safety instructions, as well as gain knowledge about general requirements for the operation of ship's equipment, ship operations - including special conditions. The study course examines microclimate factors, their impact on the human body, preventive and protective measures.
In the second part of the study course - labour legislation, regulatory acts, tax policy and institutional regulation in maritime affairs, which are included in the regulation of labour legal relations of the Republic of Latvia, are examined.
Part-time extramural studies are organized according to an individually developed study plan.
