An internship is one of the essential components of the learning process. During the internship, the student learns the basics of chemist and chemist-technologist work in chemical technology of organic compounds: acquires the methods of synthesis, isolation, purification, and analysis of organic compounds used at the place of practice, preparation of documentation describing experiments, develops and accumulates skills for work in the laboratory of synthesis of organic compounds or in industry. The internship provides the practical skills necessary for the elaboration of the master's thesis and strengthens the theoretical knowledge. Recommended enterprises for internship: pharmaceutical (Grindeks, Olainfarm, Riga Pharmaceutical Factory, MedPro, Silvanol) and organic synthesis (PharmIdea, Bapeks, Syntagon Baltic) companies, Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis, RTU Institute of Technology of Organic Chemistry, RTU Institute of Applied Chemistry. The internship ends with a public defence of the report at the department.
