The study course establishes a comprehensive framework of the modern localization theory and practice, providing students with the opportunity to develop essential localization skills, improve their technological savvy, and start developing a modern language service provider profile meeting the needs of the current language service market. In the first part of the course, students acquire the basics of localization, develop awareness of the differences between translation proper and localization, build initial competence in using localization software and Translation Management Systems (TMS), and learn about localization workflows. In the second part of the course, students get involved in intensive practice working on the emulated and real localization projects, developing content management, teamwork, workflow planning and management skills learning from practicing industry professionals.
