As part of the study course, future ship officers are given an understanding of the principles of personnel management and control and maintaining good relations, interpersonal relations, types of leadership and management, and its role and impact on personnel motivation and performance. Attention is paid to the organization of safety and emergency operations, shipboard training methods, management of bridge crews and resources, as well as the principles of conducting meetings. As part of the study course, training is carried out on simulators, where students learn and demonstrate bridge team and resource management, i.e. prioritize resources, appropriate division of work and effective communication.
The study course was created in accordance with the requirements of STCW Convention standard A-II/1, taking into account the recommendations of IMO model courses 7.03 and 1.39.
Part-time extramural studies are organized according to an individually developed plan.
The learner demonstrates the achievement of the goal and the mandatory minimum standard of competence by:
1. 100% attendance of practical classes;
2. 90% attendance of theoretical classes;
3. positive evaluation during the performance of practical tasks.
