The study course provides knowledge on environmental management systems and climate change, mitigation strategies and adaptation strategies. Benchmarking at different levels (international (ISO 14001), European Union EMAS, and national) covering environmental policy, environmental aspects, environmental programmes and environmental performance monitoring are covered. Foundations, criteria, processes and values are developed that will help to cope with disaster risk management and improve resilience. The focus is on infrastructure resilience and basic knowledge in disaster risk management and mitigation, climate change adaptation and resilience of society and critical infrastructures.
