The unit operation of chemical engineering is an independent and interdisciplinary engineering science. It is concerned with all processes that result in a change of state, location, composition, or properties of a substance. Fundamentals of unit operations in chemical engineering describe the basic principles of the classification, analysis, and calculations for chemical engineering processes, as well as provides the student with basics of the similarity theory. The study course also covers fluid flow, heat and mass transfer, thermodynamic and mechanical processes, as well as insight in basic principles of the calculations needed for related equipment.
