The study course provides an in-depth understanding of the retrieval of scientific information, preparation and design of publications, platforms of scientific information exchange, the importance of citation in the evaluation of the scientific quality of scientists and journals. The student acquires knowledge about scientific sources of information: handbooks, reference journals, databases (Science Direct, Scopus, Web of Science, EBSCO, Mendeley), specific databases of chemistry and materials science (e.g., Reaxys, SciFinder), databases of patents. The student learns to work with literature - gets skills of information search, analysis, systematization, preparation of a publication, formation of text, formula, graphics and image design, acquires the ability to use the most essential software: Excel, PowerPoint, chemistry drawing programmes, citation software.
