Information technology plays a key role in data processing and performing complex computations in many areas of business, science and engineering. Information technologies are highly diverse though there are several fundamental principles underlying these technologies. Modern developments in information technology such as mobile technologies, cloud computing, the Internet of Things and data analytics are discussed in relation to these fundamental principles. From the practical perspective, students will be asked to create an information technology solution for solving practical problems. The course is intended for students not majoring in computer science or information technology. A user-friendly development environment will be used for explaining and practising the foundations of computations and programming.
