The study course covers all major areas of the crisis, including civil protection, covering topics such as risks, early warning and information, structures and tasks, orders and budget. The study course will look at the serious risks, that are traumatic, unexpected and quick to kill, such as terrorism or chemical disasters, and the minor risks, that are not so easy to solve and can paralyze the country rather than kill someone, such as cyber warfare, lack of harvest or financial collapse. The study course teaches about the aspects of the Latvian civic role in a crisis situation and provides methods and skills on how to properly understand, manage, prepare and deal with the unexpected.
