The study course is designed to gain knowledge about optical transmission systems, their elements, optical loss mechanisms, and NLSE Schrödinger equations of electrodynamics, which describe the propagation of a signal in a nonlinear environment. This knowledge will allow students not only to understand the fundamentals of signal transmission but also to develop and apply effective modelling and characterization techniques in next-generation communication systems.
