Internship in Polymer Materials and Composites(English)(1),23/24-P

Internship in specialization is one of the most important components of the training process. During the Master's internship, the student learns in depth the daily work of a material scientist in solving scientifically, technically and ecologically topical problems: acquires methods of obtaining, processing and modifying polymeric materials and composites available at the internship, as well as methods of determining certain technological and operational properties. At the same time, the student acquires skills in preparation documentation describing experiments, which are necessary for work in research and development laboratory or industry. The internship provides the necessary practical skills and strengthens the theoretical knowledge for the successful career development of the future master student. The internship ends with a public defence of the report at the department. Possible practice places: polymer materials and composite processing/product manufacturing companies (incl. SIA Evopipes, SIA Izoterms, SIA Poliurs, SIA Polipaks, TENAX Grupa, SIA PAA, AS Latvijas Finieris), cosmetics production companies (eg Kinetics Nail Systems Ltd), new technology companies (eg SIA MassPortal), road material production companies (JSC Latvijas Valsts Ceļi), as well as testing laboratories (incl. RTU Polymer Materials Testing Laboratory, RTU Polymer Materials Institute scientific laboratories).
