This study course provides extensive knowledge of mass transfer processes (extraction, distillation, rectification, crystallization, drying, sorption and ion exchange) and equipment, their construction, compared operating principles and different calculation methodologies. The student develops an understanding of controlling these processes, increase the efficiency at relevant production stages and select the optimal production equipment. Various examples are analysed from the fields of chemical production and environmental pollution control. Great emphasis is placed on strengthening knowledge in the practical operation of equipment in laboratory work.
