Internship in specialization is one of the essential components of the study process. During the internship, the student acquires the basics of the job of materials engineer, engineer-technologist in the specialization of polymer materials and composites: acquires methods of obtaining, processing and modification of polymer materials and / or polymer composites available at the internship location. At the same time, the student acquires skills in preparing the work documentation when holding the job position of materials engineer in industry, quality control, testing or product development laboratory, consulting company or start-up specializing in polymer materials and composites. The internship provides the practical skills necessary for the development of a bachelor's thesis based on applied research and strengthens theoretical knowledge. The internship ends with a public defence of the report. Possible internship places: polymer material recycling companies (incl. JSC PET Baltija, SIA Nordic Plast, SIA EcoBaltiaVide), polymer materials and composite processing / product manufacturing companies (incl., SIA Evopipes, SIA Izoterms, SIA Poliurs, SIA TENAPORS, SIA TENAX Panel, SIA TENACHEM, SIA PAA, SIA Biolar, SIA Troja, a / s "Latvijas finieris", Kinetic Nail Systems Ltd), as well as testing and new product development laboratories (incl., RTU Laboratory of Polymer Materials Testing, Scientific Laboratories of RTU Institute of Polymer Materials).
