The student shall acquire general knowledge of the structure and properties of the substances, the inorganic and organic compounds and their classes. The study course of study looks at the thermodynamics of chemical processes, chemical balance, water solutions, balance of electrolyte solutions, acids, bases, and pH. The study course creates an in-depth understanding of the topics of electrochemistry important to the practical work of engineers, which includes the acquisition of electricity with chemical power sources and storage in rechargeable batteries. The study course focuses on chemical and electrochemical corrosion and corrosion protection of metals. Students will acquire knowledge of the composition and synthesis of polymers, including environmentally friendly biodegradable polymers. Students will acquire knowledge of fuels, including renewable fuels, extraction, composition, and properties, and the use of hydrogen as energy carrier. Students will acquire basic understanding of classifying substances and mixtures according to the requirements of the CLP Regulation. Training is focused on learning theoretical and practical knowledge.
