Internship in specialty is an essential part of studies process. During internship student acquires in-depth knowledge on the profession of chemist-technologist in chemical technology of polymer materials and composites by participating in the solution of issue relevant for a certain branch of industry: student acquires the methods of manufacturing, processing and modification of polymers and polymer composites (int. al. nanocomposites) as well as methods for characterization of certain technological and exploitation properties used at internship employment place. Simultaneously student gets skilled in the documentation of experiments necessary for employment as chemist-technologist in the polymer and composite material testing laboratory or industry. Internship adduces practical skills and strengthens theoretical knowledge necessary for successful development of the student's career. The internship is accomplished with public defence at the department. Possible internship placement: enterprises dealing with polymer recycling (int. al., a/s PET Baltija, SIA Nordic Plast, SIA Greenworld), polymer materials and composites processing/manufacturing of various goods (int. al., SIA Evopipes, SIA Izoterms, SIA Poliurs, SIA FEDAK, TENAX Grupa, SIA PAA, SIA PepiRER), as well as institutions dealing with testing and/or quality assurance (int.al., RTU Polymer Material Testing laboratory, scientific laboratories of RTU Institute of Polymer Materials).
