Bioloģiskā ķīmija(English)(1),22/23-P

The study course creates an in-depth understanding of the classes of biological macromolecules and their functions in the cell and the organism, of anabolism and catabolism of the major classes of biomolecules and their regulatory mechanisms. The student acquires knowledge about the organization and functions of protein structure, the role of nucleic acids in the storage of genetic information, the diversity of carbohydrates in nature and their role in life processes, the body's signalling systems, ion transport, and the role of inorganic compounds in the body. The study work is focused on the acquisition of knowledge that will allow students to orientate in biomolecule classes, their structures, roles, and functions.
