The study course is to provide students with an overview of the major areas of psychology. It will help students to gain a greater understanding of the complexities of human behaviour. The study course will start with the definition of psychology, the scientific basis of psychology and a historical overview of studies that influenced modern psychology. The biological, genetic and evolutionary basis of human behaviour will be discussed. The mechanisms of human perception, sensation, cognition and social influences will be analysed. During the study course, human development and personality will be discussed to better understand human behaviour and social relations. Additionally, the study course will help students to better understand social incidents or events and explain them from a psychological perspective.
