A doctoral student conducts scientific research on the thesis topic and prepares the doctoral thesis as a dissertation or a set of scientific publications. Experimental and theoretical research is conducted in the area of Electrical engineering, Electronic engineering, Information and communication engineering and its sub-branches of computer control and systems analysis, modelling and design as well as in the area of Mathematics and its subbranches of applied mathematics and theory of probability and mathematical statistics.
