The study course includes in depth studies of intellectual property types and their protection strategy. Intellectual property such as copyright, patents, trademarks and designs are covered in detail. In further steps, the course focuses on patents for the inventions, their patentability criteria and patent protection strategy. The peculiarities of filing a patent application in different jurisdictions are analyzed. Patenting procedures in major economies such as the US, Canada, Europe, Japan, etc. are also analyzed. Concerning the patent defence strategy, the patent infringement cases are reviewed and the next steps in the fight with the infringer/-s are analyzed. An integral part of the commercialization of the invention is licensing and evaluation, which are also discussed in this course.
