A Brief Outline of the Study Course
At first, the study course gives an overview of the most important issues and tasks of the contemporary education clarifying the concept of education. The course defines the role of education in the development of a personality relating the learning process with the emotional development. The importance of the emotional intelligence and competence has been stressed in this course.
Then, the study course characterizes the formation process of a creative personality explaining the concept of “creativity” and emphasizing on the value of creativity in education.
Moreover, the study course focuses on the issue of spirituality relating the maturity of a personality with his/ her spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. Apart from this the course clarifies the most important concepts of the moral and value education as well as the character education. The deep analysis of the concept “spirituality” has been done in this course to compare spirituality with the religion and folklore. The course stresses the importance of spirituality in the contemporary education.
Furthermore, the information on the alternative pedagogy has been given in this course focusing on the pedagogy and philosophy of Maria Montessori.
Last, the students’ reflections on the contemporary education issues sharing and presenting their experiences have been included in the study course.
