The study course consists of seminars and laboratory works, in which the students will get acquainted with practical aspects of qualitative analysis of organic compounds. The competences both in classic qualitative analysis and application of modern spectroscopic methods are covered. The study course will mainly cover practical applications of nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. By completing the practicum students will be able to choose the required method or a mix of several methods in order to assign structure of a given unknown low molecular weight organic compound.
