Startup Lab 2012, BBA, J.Ulmanis

This course is an extra-curricular undergraduate series of seminars that provides students the opportunity to write a business plan for their for-profit or social impact venture. It focuses on tying together the disciplines of marketing, management, finance and operations in a practical and applied way. Students will be guided through the new venture creation process, from idea generation and opportunity assessment to business plan development and pitching to an investor.

The content of the course revolves around sections of a business plan including idea generation, market research and planning, financial analysis, venture funding, operations and management. Each of those topics will be covered in a session with a focus on how they need to be integrated into a coherent, logical, compelling story. Students and/or student teams will then apply those learnings while developing their own plans.
